Carpentry

The oldest trade in the yard, and still the one everything else is measured against.

Wood forgives nothing and hides less.

Structural beams, deck framing, laminated epoxy work and decorative detail — cut, fitted and finished by shipwrights who were taught here. On hulls we built and on hulls we did not.

Structural timber

Frames, beams, stringers and keel work in solid and laminated stock, scarfed to survive another forty years.

Laminated epoxy

Cold-moulded hull repair and rebuild, vacuum-bagged where the shape demands it.

Deck systems

Teak laid, caulked and plugged over sound substrate — never over a problem.

Decorative detail

Cappings, handrails and mouldings turned and shaped to match what was there, or to replace it properly.
